CHERYL RICHARDSON
About Me
Lola Opacic Lunot, MSW, RSW
I am a registered social worker with over 15 years of experience. I bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise in many different areas of life, such as addictions, mental health, grief, loss, spousal conflict, domestic abuse, child abuse, trauma, blended families, parenting, and supporting families of individuals experiencing substance use and mental health crises.

Professionally, I spent several years working at an Inner City school on the Downtown East side. I've also worked with the Ministry of Children and Family Development, VACFSS as well as in different units of hospitals (e.g., ER, maternity, acute care). I currently work on inpatient psychiatry and have been there for close to 3 years.
Personally, I'm a first generation immigrant to Canada, and I spent my teenage years as a refugee. As an adult, I married into a blended family and became a mother figure to two young boys who lost their mother to breast cancer at a very young age. I believe that blended families are hard work and everyone would benefit from extra support to make this family structure successful. I would love to empower you, and help you train your brain to view the world in a different lens.
I practice within a trauma informed, anti-oppressive and intersectional practice and use the following counselling approaches:

-
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
-
Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT)
-
Motivational Interviewing
-
Solution-Focused Therapy

Areas of Specialty:
-
Parenting
-
Mental Health and Addictions
-

Couples Counselling
(In Person)
A walk and talk session is a 45 minute session that takes place outdoors. This is a great alternative for individuals who are less comfortable with a more formal approach to counselling.
$100
These are 50 minute sessions that take place over a telehealth platform. This is a great option for individuals with busy schedules who would feel more comfortable accessing counselling services in the comfort of their own home.
$130
Couples counselling can be helpful for a range of relationship issues. It's never too late to seek help from a qualified therapist to address these concerns. These 60 minute sessions take place over a telehealth platform, and have the option of being extended to 90 minutes.
$150 to $175

Individual Solution-Focused
(Virtual)
These are 30 minute sessions that take place over the phone. The goal of these sessions are to work within the solution focused theory that would address your current presenting concern (eg. an argument, upsetting situation etc.), rather then exploring history and root of the problem.
